This is really hard to write however as a DV survivor I feel my story should be heard.
The night my x-husband hit me will forever be in my head. I found out I have PTSD and will always have missing parts of that night. Now this wasn’t the first time he hurt me but this is the night that ended it all.
The early evening he got driven home by the police for public intoxication. They cops asked me if he lived at this house and I said yet. Instead of them taking him to the drunk tank, they left him with me. He left right after the cops took off to go to the bar but came back with friends.
I had just put the kids to bed and wasn’t aware of who was in my house. I walked out into the living room. Music was playing, people were drinking, and two ladies were on top of my husband. When I walked out the ladies looked worried and he was smiling and said “Oh don’t worry my wife don’t mind” I said “You are correct because I want a divorce anyways”. Here is where some things get blurry.
