I say no more because I was raped and sexually assaulted at 15 when I needed somewhere to stay because I was fleeing from my abusive father. The toll that being raped every night for ten months while I was sleeping had on my mental health is like nothing I’ve ever experienced and no one should have to go through this. Awareness needs to be spread about these things so that young people, girls especially, know about them. My rapist was a friend, and called himself my boyfriend. He claimed to be in love with me And his excuse for raping me daily multiple times was that he had bad mental health and couldn’t help it. I thought as the child I was that I wasn’t being clear enough that I didn’t want it, but I was. He knew what he was doing. He was in his early 20s and raping a young girl in need of genuine love and support, and he knew this.
