NO MORE is dedicated to creating timely and innovative resources to prevent abuse and support survivors. This past month, we’ve continued these efforts by sharing new guides and classes, launching impactful awareness-raising campaigns, and facilitating powerful conversations for change. We were also proud to join so many incredible leaders at The White House to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the landmark Violence Against Women Act. While we celebrate the many accomplishments made, we remain steadfast in pushing for greater progress!

Read on about how we’re making a difference and how you can join us.

Empowering Survivors to Vote Safely

Ahead of the upcoming US presidential election, NO MORE is committed to helping survivors of domestic violence and stalking participate safely in the democratic process. This month we launched a new State Voting Guide for Survivors, outlining key options to help survivors protect their privacy and security while making their voices heard.

By consolidating this critical information in one place, the guide simplifies the voting process every step of the way. NO MORE will continue to provide information for survivors, as well as for their friends, employers, and communities to help support them.

Breaking the Silence: Facilitating Conversations on Gendered Violence

Earlier this month, NO MORE, Wayfarer Studios and their Man Enough platform shared a powerful conversation recorded in July inspired by the premiere of the film adaptation of “It Ends With Us.” Moderated by our CEO Pamela Zaballa and Co-Founder Jane Randel, and featuring sector leaders and “It Ends With Us” director and co-star Justin Baldoni, the discussion explored important topics raised in the film and their real-world effects.

Amplifying Storytelling With "16 Days 16 Films"

We’re proud to once again join the 16 Days 16 Films initiative, spotlighting filmmakers addressing gender-based violence in their work. This short film initiative was created in line with UN Women’s global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence campaign to use the power of storytelling to support its goal of eliminating violence against women.

16 Days 16 Films is accepting entries from female-identifying filmmakers in the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, Australia, Mexico, the USA, and for the first time in the festival’s history, Argentina and Nigeria. Submissions are open until October 1, 2024.

Helping Students Prevent and Respond to Sexual Violence

This month, NO MORE partnered with Game Plan to release five new eLearning courses to help students prevent, recognize, and respond to sexual violence. Tailored for college athletes, these courses are a crucial step forward in the delivery of targeted preventative interventions.

The courses are now live on the Game Plan platform, accessible to schools across the US, and have already been completed by thousands of learners.

In addition, we launched a targeted “KNOW MORE” series across our social platforms to highlight the pervasive issue of campus sexual violence during the critical “Red Zone” period, the first few months of the academic year when assault rates are at their highest. Our content provided crucial resources for students, parents, caregivers, and schools, emphasizing the NO Global Directory that connects survivors, wherever they are, to local support services and highlighting resources and tools from our “Stand Up, Don’t Stand By” initiative in partnership with Uber.

Announcement: New Global Dialogue Series

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Global Dialogue Series, meaningful conversations uniting activists, allies, and survivors to explore the many ways domestic and sexual abuse can manifest in relationships - from the early stages of dating to separation and beyond. The first episode, “Dating and Domestic Violence: Looking for Love vs. Control,” will focus on identifying the early warning signs of abuse and equipping attendees with the tools to intervene effectively.

Mark your calendar for this first monthly episode on October 30th and we will share more details soon.

Reminder: NO MORE Global Directory Provides 24/7 Support Worldwide

NO MORE’s Global Directory is a vital resource that connects victims of domestic and sexual violence to support services in over 200 countries and territories. This comprehensive directory ensures survivors can access the help they need, wherever they are. We encourage you to share the Global Directory widely. By spreading the word, you can help bridge the gap between survivors and the critical support services they need.
