To honor sexual assault awareness month, EmPOWer gym in Lansing, MI is “going teal” on Friday, April 5 by partnering with Go Teal, a movement that emphasizes the importance of sexual assault awareness, prevention, and response.
Our team of trainers at emPOWer gym will instruct a free, one-hour empowerment workout class open to members and the public which aims to create awareness around the issue of sexual violence and build a community of support and resilience.
After the empowerment workshop, the Go Teal team and other members of the community will be able to speak about their involvement in sexual assault awareness, provide resources to survivors, recite a poem about sexual assault or speak about their experiences. Teal ribbons, boxing gloves, and a kick-ass time will be provided.
