Since we are all trying to be conscientious and responsible citizens and sticking to the whole “social distancing” thing, we decided to celebrate Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) in style, starting with a digital kickoff party. Everyone is invited, whether you live in Tennessee, across the country or across the world, you are welcome!

We will start with a very brief history of SAAM before sharing pictures what you hope to accomplish, goals for your organization or society as a whole, or your what SAAM means to you. Everyone is encouraged to participate, but if you are not comfortable with sharing, that is okay!  Pictures can be photos you have from prior events, photos or illustrations you find on the internet, or if you are artistically inclined, you can draw or paint something.

We will also be showing a twelve minute video from an amazing woman who shares her insights on how we can begin to change the culture of sexual violence.

We will then have a breakout session so we can brainstorm on new ways to spread awareness, increase diversity, etc. before ending the evening with an open mic, giving people time to briefly share their stories if they would like.
