These are some of the reasons Yavapai College and the Yavapai County Coordinated Community Response Team are teaming up in April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, to encourage the community say NO MORE to sexual violence.

At 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, YC is hosting a communitywide awareness event, followed by a march to and around the Yavapai County Courthouse.

Goals of the event are to honor survivors who have the courage to speak out “and to bring awareness to this critical issue in our community,” said Kathryn Chapman of the Family Advocacy Center in Prescott Valley, chair of the CCRT committee organizing the event.

It will also support workers in the field, such as advocates, counselors, law enforcement and child safety.
