The person who vowed to love, honor, & cherish me is the person I need protection from. I didn't know my estranged husband was a narcissist until after we got married. He tried his best to break me & he enjoyed that I was a strong woman who could “take” the abuse. I enabled my abuser by being silent for too long but NO MORE. As a law enforcement officer, I was embarrassed that this was happening to me. He threatened to kill me & destroy me if I ever left. He treated me like property & even told me he owned me! I was a prisoner in my own home. He loved to hold my phone, purse, & keys hostage. He constantly degraded me, blew my phone up, stalked me, & harassed my family & friends. After numerous attempts to leave, I finally got the courage to never go back. I went no contact, filed for a restraining order, & soon the marriage will be dissolved. He has locked me out of our business & is ruining my credit but at least NO MORE leash & NO MORE being his punching bag. My life matters! Lori
