Show your support for NO MORE domestic violence and sexual assault
My ex husband verbally, sexually, mentally and physically abused me during our marriage. He tried to force me to have sex with others for money and luckily I was able to prevent that from happening; but not with out consequence. A miscarriage during our marriage forced me to see a therapist and working with her for almost two years gave me the strength to leave. It’s been over 25 years since I left and I still live with PTSD stemming from the abuse.
I have since remarried and have two teenage children. they were little I have always talked to them about what a healthy relationship is , how to recognize potentially abusive behavior and to say “NO MORE”. My kids talk to their friends about what they have learned at home .
I speak about IPV/DV to youth groups and to their advisors about what to look for., how to deal with and provide resources for help.
I will continue to say “NO MORE” until the day comes when we don’t have to say it. Stephanie
